The Frye Cowboy Boots Company has carried the distinction of
being the oldest, most original, and the finest manufacturer of boots in the country. A testament for its
quality and heritage is its long enduring existence in the boots industry, started since 1863 by John A. Frye
from England. Frye managed the company for 40 years before giving the full control and legacy to his family.
The company itself has been in the family till 1945, before being acquired by a reputable shoe-making
company.
Known for their reliability and quality, Frye cowboy boots were the ones which were used in the American Civil War and even in the Spanish-American War.
Aside from being the choice of the American cavalry, this boot is also the best choice for different known
personalities during those times. An example is the late president Theodore Rossevelt. Due to its 19th
century fame, the Frye Cowboy Boots became a relevant entity in the shoemaking industry.
Frye Cowboy Boots started its fashion domination when it first
introduced the famed Frye Harness boots. When the first series of these boots came out, everybody was
ecstatic and almost everyone in the business started copying the design. Because of that, the design
remained one of the most remarkable and popular style up to now. Due to its popularity, different anecdotes
were revealed to back up the starting fame of the boots. According to some, an incident in 1938 prompted the
sudden boost in the company’s image when one of the Navy Admiral asked that a pair of boots be made for him
since he couldn’t find the boots that he coveted. Being a skilled craftsman, the grandson of Frye started
making the boots for the admiral, and the rest was history. The boots became the first choice of American
soldiers in the mission. Due to this, the Frye Boots became the official choice of the American Cavalry
during the World War II.
Aside from being the choice of the heroes that defend our land, many
great people had also worn these boots. An example is General Patton who personally chose the
Frye boots for himself. Due to its high quality and being part of the American history, the company re-launched
a famous boots line in the 1860’s and revealed it again the 60’s. Believe it or not, these re-released boots
became part of the boots fashion industry that wheeled up in the 60s and 70s; amongst it are the other Frye
Boots lines which are more modern and unique.
Because of its years of existence, the Frye cowboy boots has been one of the most co-memorable things that ever existed till now. And whether you
accept it or not, this brand has been part of the American and world history in every angle. Aside from
that, the distinct quality it offers makes it a popular choice not just by the people who grew up with it,
but also of the younger generation who has just heard about it.
